How long will it take?
It is the aim of the Dental Complaints Service to resolve any complaints received as soon as possible.
We expect dental professionals to follow the professional guidance issued by the General Dental Council to the dental profession. This guidance says that complaints should normally be resolved within 10 working days, unless there are exceptional circumstances or if a patient agrees to a different timescale.
There will be cases where more investigation or extra information is needed which will result in this time being extended. We will, however, keep you up-to-date should this be the case.
